BSEC 2011 will be all about change. We have a new Government, a new education secretary who has put an end to the BSF procurement process.

BSEC will be all about school investment in the context of the public finances, about removing inflexibility and complexity. It will focus on the upcoming review guiding future spending decisions over the Spending Review Period 2011-12 to 2014-15. It will look at how best to meet parental demand; make current design and procurement cost-effective and efficient; and overhaul how capital is allocated and targeted.

In one focused stream of content BSEC 2011 will focus on what’s coming next, with a heavy emphasis on procurement. Education sector work will still be incredibly important to contractors and architects; BSEC will deliver conference content that focuses on how to win work after BSF.

This year BSEC 2011 will cover the design, construction, refurbishment, equipment and operation of all types of education establishments.
